STRONG COMEBACK

30 JANUARY 2026

At BPM SFX, transparency is at the heart of everything we do, and our monthly articles are our way of giving those interested in our work a genuine and in-depth look at what we have been up to. Rather than simply showcasing the highlights, we want to offer a fuller picture of life at BPM SFX. We believe that the more people understand about us, the stronger the relationships we are able to build within our industry.

Each article is carefully structured around our slogan — What We Do — and covers three key areas that together reflect the full scope of our company. The first focuses on the innovation, creativity, and expertise, shining a light on the developments, technologies, and ideas that keep BPM SFX at the forefront of the industry. The second covers the people, culture, and community, celebrating the individuals and teams that make our company special. The third highlights the events, shows, and festivals we, showcasing the productions and performances where our work truly comes to life. This months coverage is as follows:

Depence Project Rendering
What - The innovation, creativity, and expertise

Staff Photoshoot Day

These articles are also shared on our LinkedIn page, where we provide the same updates to our wider network of industry professionals, clients, and followers. Whether you are a long-standing client, a fellow industry professional, or simply someone curious about the world of live events, we hope these updates give you a meaningful insight.

DEPENCE PROJECT RENDERING

Throughout January, our technicians spent some time at our HQ using our Depence suite by rendering multiple concepts to music tracks provided by one of our summer work experience employees, James Morris. James was keen to use the final renders as part of his upcoming university dissertation, and our team worked closely with him to design a show concept using both lasers and SFX within a 3D model of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Using the three tracks supplied by James, we used Cue Points for each piece of music, allowing accurate time markers to be set and then exported into both MA3 and Pangolin Beyond. Over the course of three weeks (a week for each track) our team applied their programming expertise to each song, with James visiting our HQ at the end of every week to review progress and provide feedback. Camera movement was animated directly within the Depence timeline, while lasers were programmed in Pangolin Beyond and SFX in MA3 Mode 3. DMX values were then streamed from the MA console into Depence. This allows the lasers and SFX to be rendered in Depence via syncronorm timecode (SNTC). We were delighted to support James as well as giving our technicians some dedicated time to learn more about Depence and MA3 Mode 3.

STAFF PHOTOSHOOT DAY

Midway through the month, we hosted a staff photoshoot day at our HQ, with the images set to feature across several upcoming in-house projects. We welcomed back Josiah Murray, who joined us during our product video shoot in December, to assist with lighting equipment and ensure the highest possible image quality. A dedicated set was built within our HQ, with each member of staff allocated an individual time slot throughout the day.

A wide range of photographs were captured and will soon be seen across BPM SFX platforms and projects. We take pride in the contribution each member of our team makes to the success of BPM SFX, and this shoot was an important step in giving them the recognition they deserve.

HANNAH LAING

In January, we were brought on board by Black Widow Design to supply lasers for Hannah Laing’s special show at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre. The set was designed by Auratecture, who we wkred closely with determine the most effective laser positions to complement the overall production. For the show, we supplied Kvant Atom 42s, with two units positioned on the DJ booth and additional lasers placed on the wings, all mounted on Manfrotto stands.

The response to the production was extremely positive, with the laser effects adding a striking visual element to the performance. Feedback from the client and production team was excellent, and Hannah Laing herself was pictured reacting in amazement to the laser display. We were proud to be part of such a standout show and look forward to future shows alike.
