PROMISING TRANSITION
25 SEPTEMBER 2026
At BPM SFX, transparency is at the heart of everything we do, and our monthly articles are our way of giving those interested in our work a genuine and in-depth look at what we have been up to. Rather than simply showcasing the highlights, we want to offer a fuller picture of life at BPM SFX. We believe that the more people understand about us, the stronger the relationships we are able to build within our industry.
Each article is carefully structured around our slogan — What We Do — and covers three key areas that together reflect the full scope of our company. The first focuses on the innovation, creativity, and expertise, shining a light on the developments, technologies, and ideas that keep BPM SFX at the forefront of the industry. The second covers the people, culture, and community, celebrating the individuals and teams that make our company special. The third highlights the events, shows, and festivals we, showcasing the productions and performances where our work truly comes to life. This months coverage is as follows:
Katie Taylor
What - The innovation, creativity, and expertise
Breakthrough Talent Award Nominations
We - The people, culture, and community
You&Me
Do - The events, shows, and festivals
These articles are also shared on our LinkedIn page, where we provide the same updates to our wider network of industry professionals, clients, and followers. Whether you are a long-standing client, a fellow industry professional, or simply someone curious about the world of live events, we hope these updates give you a meaningful insight.
KATIE TAYLOR
At the beginning of September, we had the pleasure of working alongside Katie Taylor to provide SFX for her retirement fight walkout in her home country of Ireland. Such a significant occasion called for an equally spectacular production, and our staff worked closely with Katie’s production team throughout the planning process to ensure the effects matched the occasion. Considerable time was dedicated determining how best to integrate the effects into the walkout, with our team producing multiple visual renders of the final sequence.
Following approval, our technicians brought the concept to life on the night, supplying a combination of Display Pyro and Stage Pyro to create a dramatic entrance worthy of the occasion. The final result was absolutely spectacular, providing an unforgettable atmosphere as Katie made her way to the ring for the final fight of her career. We were thrilled to help create a fitting send-off for such an incredible athlete.
BREAKTHROUGH TALENT AWARD NOMINATIONS
During September, we received fantastic news as four members of our team, Adam Bailey, Zack Carey, Jack Bishop, and Oliver Jeffries, were nominated for the Production Futures Breakthrough Talent Awards. Both Adam and Zack are graduates of the Academy of Live Technology and have been with us for several years, consistently demonstrating their abilities, dedication, and commitment to delivering effects across a wide range of high-profile events.
Jack and Oliver joined us more recently in July and have already made a fantastic impression, hitting the ground running and contributing to some of our biggest events. All four individuals represent the standards, enthusiasm, and professionalism we strive to uphold throughout BPM SFX. Recognising the development and achievements of our staff is something we take great pride in, and to see four members of our team receiving recognition is a fantastic achievement. We couldn't be prouder of their nominations and wish them all the very best at the awards.
YOU&ME
To close out September, we were delighted to join a variety of artists, including Josh Baker, for You&Me at Warehouse Project in Manchester. The event marked one of our first transitions back into indoor productions as we move away from the busy summer festival season. It was also the first of several upcoming productions we will be supplying at the venue.
Across the two nights, we supplied a combination of SFX and Lasers to transform the venue and create an immersive atmosphere for the audience. This included our in-house Typhoon AC-30 units positioned across the stage, alongside in-house MFLs mounted to the venue's pillars and beside the VIP stage using diffraction. CO2 Jets were also fitted to the pillars and directed out towards the crowd. The results across both nights were fantastic, and hope to return soon.
