PIVOTAL PERIOD

29 AUGUST 2025

At BPM SFX, transparency is at the heart of everything we do, and our monthly articles are our way of giving those interested in our work a genuine and in-depth look at what we have been up to. Rather than simply showcasing the highlights, we want to offer a fuller picture of life at BPM SFX. We believe that the more people understand about us, the stronger the relationships we are able to build within our industry.

Each article is carefully structured around our slogan — What We Do — and covers three key areas that together reflect the full scope of our company. The first focuses on the innovation, creativity, and expertise, shining a light on the developments, technologies, and ideas that keep BPM SFX at the forefront of the industry. The second covers the people, culture, and community, celebrating the individuals and teams that make our company special. The third highlights the events, shows, and festivals we, showcasing the productions and performances where our work truly comes to life. This months coverage is as follows:

Leeds and Reading Festival
What - The innovation, creativity, and expertise

Record Number of Staff
We - The people, culture, and community

Creamfields Festival
Do - The events, shows, and festivals

These articles are also shared on our LinkedIn page, where we provide the same updates to our wider network of industry professionals, clients, and followers. Whether you are a long-standing client, a fellow industry professional, or simply someone curious about the world of live events, we hope these updates give you a meaningful insight.

LEEDS AND READING FESTIVAL

August proved to be one of the busiest, most dynamic months of the year, with multiple tours running simultaneously and a packed festival schedule across consecutive weekends. Among the highlights was our involvement at Leeds and Reading Festival, where BPM SFX supplied SFX for artists including D-Block Europe, Rudimental, Sammy Virji, and headline act Hozier.

The biggest challenge of the weekend was ensuring perfectly replicated effects across both festival sites, each supported by different crews. Our team coordinated and executed identical SFX setups for all artists, culminating in a breathtaking Display Pyro to close Hozier’s headline performances. The success of Leeds and Reading Festival stands as a testament to our team’s precision, planning, and creativity under pressure, demonstrating the exceptional results BPM SFX can deliver during one of the industry’s busiest periods.

RECORD NUMBER OF STAFF

With such an intense schedule of events, August marked a milestone for BPM SFX as we reached our 2025 record for the highest number of staff working simultaneously across multiple event sites. This achievement included both in-house employees and freelance specialists, all working tirelessly to deliver the outstanding results our clients expect.

The collaboration and coordination required to operate at this scale were remarkable, showcasing the dedication and professionalism of everyone involved. The teamwork displayed across the month has set a new benchmark for what we can achieve together, and we couldn’t be prouder. As we move toward the end of festival season, we look forward to maintaining this momentum and continuing to raise the bar in every project we undertake.

CREAMFIELDS FESTIVAL

August also saw our return to Creamfields - one of our largest and most demanding events of the year, and a true highlight in the BPM SFX calendar. This year we provided SFX across six of the eight main stages, supporting performances from artists including Martin Garrix, MK, Clementine Douglas, Sub Focus, Sonny Fodera, and headliners Chase and Status, Swedish House Mafia, and David Guetta.

Each headline act closed with an extraordinary Display Pyro, while other performances featured a diverse range of effects including Galaxis G Flames, Explo Wave Flames, Magic FX Hell Fires, X-Treme Shots, Stadium Shots, Stadium Blasters, Eco 2 Jets, Co2 Jets, Showven Sparkulars, Balloons, and Stage Pyro. The results were nothing short of spectacular, creating unforgettable moments for both artists and audiences. Creamfields continues to be a cornerstone event for BPM SFX, and we look forward to returning next year as the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary at Daresbury Park.
